How to prepare Okra / Bhindi Curry / Bendekai Huli
Ingredients
Bhindi/Okra - 1 lb
Onion - 1/2
Tamarind - lemon size
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Hing - Pinch
Curry Leaves - 3-4
Green Chillies - 2
Sambar Powder - 2 tbsp
Grated Coconut - 3-4 tbsp
Salt - as per taste
Preparation
1. Wash and cut okra into 1/2 inch pieces
2. Fry okra for around 4-5 minutes
3. Grind Sambar Powder and Grated Coconut and make a paste.
4. In a vessel heat oil, add mustard, hing, curry leaves, onion, green chillies and fry untill onions are translucent.
5. Add Tamarind juice, Turmeric, Salt and cook for another another 2-3 min
6. Now add Okra, Grinded paste and let it boil for 7-8 minutes.
Serve hot with Rice :-D

How to prepare Channa (Kadale kaalu) Huli Sambar
Ingredients
Channa - 1 cup Soak for minimum 3 hours
Potato - 3 small
Toor dal - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 small
Tomato - 1 big
Red Chillies - 2
Sambar Powder - 2 1/2 tsp
Jaggery powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Water - 3 cups
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
grated coconut - 1 tsp
olive oil - 1 tsp
hing - pinch
mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
curry leaves - 4-5 leaves
Preparation
1. Cook Channa dal in a cooker with some water and salt for 3 whistles
2. Now once the cooker is cooled add toor dal, diced potatoes, onion, tomato, turmeric to it and cook it again for 2 more whistles.
3. In a vessel heat oil, add mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves, red chillies
4. once curry leaves are done add the contents of cooker, sambar powder, Jaggery, coconut, Salt and bring it to boil. Let it boil for 4-5 min
Server hot with Rice.

How to prepare pappu (my style)
Ingredients
Dal - 1cup (you can take mixture of thoor dal, channa dal, moong dal or any 1 of them)
Tomato - 2 medium size
Onion - 1 small
Green Chillies - 5
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Garlic - 4-5 pods
Any vegetable of your choice
Olive Oil - 1 tsp
mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
red chillies - 2
curry leaves - 5-6
Hing - pinch
Preparation
1. In a pressure cooker take dal, finely chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, green chillies, turmeric, chilli powder, salt, garlic, any one vegetable of your choice and cook it for 3 whistles
2. Allow the cooker to cool down naturally.
3. Mash the contents of cooker well with a spoon.
4. In another vessel heat oil, all mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves, red chillies
5. Add the contents of cooker to it and cook for 3-4 min more.
Serve hot with rice :-)

How to prepare Tomato Rasam
Ingredients
Olive oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Hing - a Pinch
Dry Red chillies - 2
Curry leaves - 5-6
Toor dal - 1/4 cup
Tomato chopped - 2
Onion chopped - 1/2 (Optional)
Green Chillies - 3
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Fresh grated coconut - 2 tbsp
Jaggery - 1/2 tsp
Rasam Powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Salt
Water
Cilantro for garnishing
Preparation
1. In a cooker add Toor dal, tomato, onion, green chillies, coconut, turmeric and water and cook for 3-4 whistles
2. In a vessel heat oil, add mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves, red chillies.
3. Now add the contents of cooker, Rasam Powder, Salt and Jaggery and let it boil for 5 min
4. Garnish with coriander leaves
Serve hot with rice.

How to prepare mulangi herekayi Huli Saaru
Ingredients
Oil - 1 tsp
mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
hing - a pinch
Red Chillies - 2
Curry Leaves - 4-5
Onion chopped - 1 small
Tomato chopped - 1 small
Toor dal - 1/3 cup
Raddish (mulangi)- 1 medium
Ridge Gourd (Ridge Gourd) - 1/2 medium
Sambar Powder - 2 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Jaggery powder - 1/2 tsp
cilantro for garnishing
You can choose any other vegetable of your choice.
Procedure
1. In a cooker, add toor dal, raddish, Ridge Gourd, onion and tomato
2. Let them cook for 3 whistles untill toor dal are cooked well (few toor dal may take a bit longer compared to others)
3. In a vessel heat oil, add mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves, red chillies
4. Add cooked vegetables, sambar powder, Jaggery, Salt and let it cook for 10 min
5. Garnish with Cilantro
Server Hot with Ragi Mudde or Rice
Oil - 1 tsp

How to Prepare Pepper Rasam
Ingredients:
oil = 2-3 spoons
Jeera = 1/4 tsp
curry leaves = 1 spring
garlic = 3 pods
chillies = 2
pepper powder = 1/2 - 3/4 tsp
tamrind juice = 1 lemon size
rasam powder = 1/4 tsp
hing = a pinch
coriander leaves = 1/2 tsp
turmeric powder = 1/4 tsp
jaggery = 1/2 tsp crushed
water = 1 1/2 cup
salt = to taste
Preparation:
1. Take oil in a pan add hing, curry leaves, jeera, garlic, chillies, pepper powder, tamrind juice, turmeric powder, jaggery.
2. Boil water in a vessel add the above mixture, rasam powder and salt.
3. Add coriander leaves.
Serve Hot with Rice
